Empanada Filling: Beef (Dinners)
Canned Food- Raisins (need some, have some)
- Tomato Paste (need some, have 2)
- Hot Sauce (need some, have some)
- Olives (green) (need some, have none)
- Ground Beef (need 1, have 5)
- Chili Powder (need some, have some)
- Cinnamon (need some, have some)
- Paprika (need some, have some)
- Oregano (need some, have some)
Recipe:
½-1 lb. ground beef ¼ can tomato paste (1.5oz or less) 2-3 cloves fresh garlic ¼-½ sweet onion ¼-½ cup Raisins Hot sauce (cheap; you'll use a lot) Green olives (optional) 1. Pan fry onion until translucent 2. Brown ground beef in same pan; drain 3. Mince garlic and add to pan; cook until fragrant or lightly toasted 4. Add a ton of raisins along with ⅓+ cup water and small amount (¼ can or less) tomato paste 5. Chop olives fairly fine and add (to taste) 6. Add a bunch of hot sauce (think ¼ cup; I usually use Frank's) 7. Add dry seasonings to taste: * good amount of cinnamon * medium amount of chili pepper * small/mid amount of cayenne (optional) * small amount of oregano (optional) 8. Stir under med/low heat to allow tomato paste to melt into the water 9. Reduce until desired texture
